Access to Student Information
Out of necessity student information must be collected. Our policy regarding student records is intended to fully comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FRPA) of 1974. The Act was designed to protect the privacy of your educational records, to establish the right for you to inspect your educational records, and to provide you with a framework for the correction of inaccurate information. It is the policy of the National Institute of Emergency Medical Services to keep all records pertaining to our student population private and confidential except for that designated as directory information.
Directory information includes your name, address, telephone number, dates of attendance, and certificates received. Directory information may be disclosed by the Institute for any purpose at its discretion. Students may have their directory information withheld but must notify the institute in writing. Non-directory information such as a student’s social security number and grade transcripts will only be released upon written request by the student or in accordance with the Law.
The National Institute of Emergency Medical Services keeps an ongoing record of your accomplishments. Academic records are available upon written request provided all financial obligations are paid in full. Copies of certificates and/or grades may be obtained without charge from the NIEMS Department of Training and Continuing Education by using the following form.
