Consortium Membership

The National Research Consortium for Emergency Medical Services (NRC-EMS) is a division of the National Institute of Emergency Medical Services (NIEMS) located in Washington, DC.   NIEMS is an organization dedicated to improving the emergency medical service system through better research, education, and public policy.  Research conducted through the NRC-EMS is primarily funded through corporate, foundation, and government sponsorship.  Institutional members of the NRC-EMS use donations and grants from its sponsors to investigate biomedical, clinical, and epidemiological issues affecting the quality of emergency medical care.  Of specific interest to the Consortium is pre-hospital care provided by ambulance personnel.  Established institutions and universities that specialize in medical research are invited to join the Consortium.  For more information, please contact Dr. Jack Chirikjian at Chirikjian@niems.org.
